Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if constant gas and flatulence is a common symptom of celiac. I have been suffering for quite a long time with this and am awaiting an endoscopy test. My sister is an undiagnosed celiac but her symptoms are completely different to mine. I also have lost weight and don't have much of an appetite and feel really awful all the time. Would really appreciate any help.
When I had those symptoms tests showed I had Diverticulitis and IBS.
I dont know if Celiac is the cause of your problem as a lot of stomach problems have similar symptoms.
An Endoscopy will show what is wrong in the meantime you can look up a diet for Flatulence and follow that.
All the best,
Hi thanks for your adivse. I was wondering about divulticulitis, would this show up on a colonscopy which I am having along with the endoscopy. I also had an CT scan a couple of weeks ago but this was clear. Would divulticulitis have shown on the scan?
Yes!... a Colonoscopy will show if you have Diverticulitis. It showed mine.
I also had a CT scan but my Diverticulitis showed up before I had that and I had the Colonoscopy first.
Hope this helps and all the best with your scans,

Have NO fear of your Colonoscopy. I have had two,one on its own and one with the Endoscopy.
You will be sedated and will not know about it. I was worried myself the first time but after I was sedated I didn't know anything about it infact I thought I had had the best nights sleep ever. No after effects either except for a feeling of Gas/Wind and that went after a few hours and I had my dinner as usual.
I wish you well and do let us know how you get on,
Thanks for your reassurance, I do feel more confident now. So many people have made me afraid by telling me about their negative experiences and I don't why they do this!
Anyway thanks for your kindness and I will let you know how I get on.
