Could Bovine beta casein enteropathy cause a false positive in a biopsy looking for a celiac diagnosis. I am going for a biopsy next week and have only introduced dariy back into my system for the last 2 weeks or so and do not want to have a false positive.
Boy, that's a tough one. I would ask your gastroenterologist about it. Is there a reason you introduced dairy back into your diet? It seems 2 weeks back on it would not be long enough to produce changes in the mucosa of the gut. Have you had the antibody tests used for detecting celiac disease? That may help prevent any misdiagnosis related to gluten enteropathy based on biopsy findings.
