After having many symptoms of celiac I took a blood test and was negative. Also my cbc was very good.
Do all celiacs have low iron? Can I still have celiac if blood test is negative and iron and other vitamins are normal?
Also I just started a gluten free diet to see if I get better. Is it normal to feel worse after 1 week? Does it get better with time?
My blood test a year ago was negative but a recent biopsy was positive for celiac and this is considered the "gold standard" for diagnosis. Therefore if you feel that you do have celiac see if you can get your GI doc to perform an endoscopy and get a biopsy. Also your feeling bad are gluten withdrawals and everyone reacts differently.
