Hi,

I´m 28 years old with spastic diplegic CP. I´d love to hear from any adults with spastic diplegia who underwent selective dorsal rhizotomy - positive or negative experiences with this surgery.

I would appreciate a lot your answer!!!

This is a radical treatment approach that may benefit some. Have you done any reasearch of your own on this subject. Do you understand what this is?

Yes, I have read many web pages on the internet about the surgery. I also got in touch with some neurosurgeons, PT-s, orthopaedists,...etc. The opinions are contradictory. What I´m searching for are personal testimonies of adults with spastic diplegic CP who underwent this radical and risky surgery.

Hello Mollie,

from what I have read, adults have poorer results after SDR, than children. Children have more "elastic and softer" nerves and they haven't had the time to "learn" and develope alternative muscle control pathways like adults
