I have a daughter age 3 with cp(quadraplegic spastic) we live in the uk and i am finding it really difficult to find information on diffrent treatments. We have been told about phsio therapy,occupational therapy,speech and language therapy,swimming and hydro therapy but are finding it difficult to find out about other kind. Any information would be very appreciated as we only want to do the best for her.

The therapies you listed are certainly a good starting place for a child of 3

My mother exercised me 4 times daily for thirteen years, til I fired her

But my father told me that as long as I lived in his house, I had to be engaged in some form of therapy - self-initiated.

At 46, for me the best therapy continues to be doing housework - I get a lot of good range of motion exercise pushing a vacuum cleaner.

Hi, I also have a daughter who is spastic quadraplegic. She is 9 years old. You could contact SCOPE about different therapies. We have tried conductive education which was very helpful, patterning, which wasn't for us, then theres hyperbaric oxygenation therapy, which we haven't tried, and probably many others. I found out about most of these through newspaper articles, tv programmes and the internet. Just keep looking and try everything, but remember there is no miracle cure. Good luck.

Hi, I also have a daughter with spastic quadraplegia, she is 9. SCOPE would be a good place for information on therapies. We have tried Conductive Education, which was very helpful, patterning which was not for us, there is also hyperbaric oxygenation therapy which we have not tried. My daughter has botox injections in her elbows to make her arms less stiff and they work well, but have to be topped up every 4 months. There are many different therapies available, some work for some people and not for others so they are all worth trying, but please remember there is no miracle cure. Good luck.
