I had this when I was three...I don't know how much help I can be to you, other than to say I know they cut more nerves going to what was my "worse" side, and that side is now better than the other in terms of spasticity. I suppose I would not be as ambulatory now if I had not had the surgery. I had to go to therapy after it, where they strengthened muscles and helped me practice walking (this info per my mother
). And ummmm, the scar was the length of my entire back after I had it, but is now very small and on my lower back (I'm almost 20).
