Has anyone heard of a transdermal patch that helps w/ drooling?
MY hubby, Tygh, had a new home health aide whose first day with him was today.
Well, Tygh drools, and she noticed (it's kinda hard not to notice). She mentioned that she had helped another person w/ CP, and that they had a transdermal (through the skin) patch that they wore right behind their ear that helped with their drooling.
I want to look into getting a perscription from his dr for this if possible, and was just wondering if anyone had heard of such a thing and can tell me anything about it.

I think what they were talking about was the scopolamine patch. I have heard of people using it for problems with drooling. There are also oral medications and surgery that can be done to minimize drooling. Check with your doctor to see what would be best for your child. Also some parents have found good effects from lots of oral stimulation to decrease drooling.
