Hey there -
First I wanted to say hello.

I'm new to the boards. My name is Katie and I am 25 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy. I have an Associates Degree in Education, a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education (English), I am three classes from being a certified Special Ed teacher, and I am working on my Masters. I use a walker to get from one location to the next. I am very independent. If you saw me sitting at lunch with a friend or something, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that I have CP.
When it comes to dating I haven't really done it a lot. It's not that I don't want to, people just take one look at the walker, and get completely scared off. From there, men start to assume things about me that are not true. Then it's all down hill from there.
I have been out with a couple people with CP, but there CP was so severe that it was difficult. I believe and know I can do anything, and I want a man who can do almost anything with me.
When it comes to going out with "normal" guys, it's been one rejection after another. It really has been the worse thing about having CP for me. Men don't really view me fairly and because of that I haven't gotten my chances
Who I am inside is what should matter, not what I look like on the outside, (even though I am pretty cute!)
Anyway, just thought I would say hello and post my thoughts about CP and the issue with dating. Also, it would be nice to get to know other men with CP.

Have a good day!
