Hi Everyone,
My name is Paul I'm 26, a law student and have either moderate spastic quad or diplegia (depending on what piece of paper you're looking at) and a severe visual impairment. While I think anti-discrimination law (e.g. the ADA) is interesting; my goal is to fight for the rights of immigrants. I have primarily used a wheelchair (both power and manual) since I was 15 (due to severe pain and exhaustion issues) and more or less quit walking entirely near the beginning of college. Becoming a chair user is easily the single most important thing I've done to affect the course of my life it's opened so many doors (although going to law school is a close second). I use a white cane in conjunction with my chair to get around (guide dogs are cool, but if I'm going to have a dog it's going to be a pet. I also have bladder issues which I've found are fairly common in people with CP. I enjoy going to concerts (i.e. any kind of rock, non-mainstream hip-hop, reggae and African music). Outside of a ridiculous amount of studying/applying for internships I like painting and reading (mostly non-fiction and the newspapers). Anyways, neat to find this forum and I look forward to interesting discussions.
