percutaneous lengthenings...easier to regain strength?

Hi there,
Noah is going to St. Louis in December to get percutaneous heel cord and hamstring lengthenings. Has anyone out there had these? Does anyone know if it's easier to regain your strength after this procedure vs. where they cut your tendons/muscles?
