Shoes for someone with previous tendon injury

Hi !

One of my tendons tore about six months ago. It's definitely a lot stronger now, though not perfect. My doctor says that since both my feet have some pain, it is now really an issue of my flat feet. In the morning my feet are okay, but I can still get some inflamation from standing too long or walking too far. I do have the special inserts in my shoes to help with my flat feet.

Unfortunately, the doctor didn't explain what good shoes for walking and good shoes for running look like.

Could someone, who has had some experience with flat feet and the tendon injuries, describe to me the features of a good walking shoe, like for in the city. Also, a good running shoe would be appreciated too. Picture links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million !!
