Hi,
I am 19 years old and have mild cerebral palsy. Several months ago I started having a stabbing sensation all over my body (more often in my hands and feet) which usually occurred at night. I talked to my doctor about this, and she prescribed Gabapentin. However, I did not like the side effects of this medication and decided not to take it. After awhile the pain seemed to go away (and stayed away for several weeks). Unfortunatly, last night I had the same pain. Does anyone else have this problem?
I do go through the pains, but they are in my legs where the palsy is, and they do come every now and then. I just take some Ibprofen. They don't get rid of the pain completely, but enough that I can move myself around.
I would say - just take it easy. Is it where your palsy is???
I have spastic hemiparesis cerebral palsy that affects my entire right side. I am not even sure what to think about it, but I have absolutely no sensation on my right side which is affected by CP. T go to a neuro occupational therapist once a week, and she said that my neck muscles are tight, and that I need to have better posture so that my nerves will not be pinched in attempt to help increase sensation. I am still looking for answers as well... Keep positive, andbe sure to stretch the tight muscles. :-)
