How is CP diagnosed
Hi. My partner is in his mid 20's and is in a wheelchair. Despite extensive medical tests when he was younger he has never been diagnosed with anything. Certain conditions have been mentioned by family members, with CP being 1 of them. He developed normally as a baby and toddler until he reached about 14 months. Then about 3 months after that could no longer walk. Is it normal to have symptoms suddenly appear at that age, and for the specialists to not diagnose him.

It is possible to recognize the signs later in life, especially when the baby is 14 months old. I was diagnosed when I was a year old too.

When a doctor diagnoses CP, they will check your muscles and then they will ask to have your brain scan to see if there are any brain damage.

If your friend decides to go through this process. I wish both of you luck.
