i need advice on how you can ease side effects of chemotherapy. my grandma had a tumour removed from her urinary tract a few weeks ago and now will have to undergo chemotherapy. we are very concerned about all possible side effects of it including losing her hair.

i'd really appreciate any advice from people who had it: are the any specific foods she should eat, or take any supplement or anything else she could do to feel better while having chemo. is it possible to do something to avoid losing or reduce losing hair?

hi,sorry to hear about your nan. my mum is having chemo at the mo, she has lost all of her hair which you have no control over but everyone is different and it depends on how strong a chemo it is.there is the option of a wig? she does feel very sick afterwards but does take the anti sick pills provided which does help a great deal.quavers (crisps) flat lemonade, ginger biscuits and boiled sweets all seem to help her when shes at her worst. hope this helps you and your nan.

sunday sun- it is hard to say what she might experience . as im sure you are ware every medicine and every person is different. the chemo that im on right now has very little side effects. i get it every week. at the hospital or clinc where she recieves her treatment should have a nutritionist on staff(free of charge) to help with diet and make suggestions on things that could help.i wish your grandma the best of luck.........melissa
