Re: hair after chemotherapy

I answered on the other board and you can read my answer there. I will ask, though, how long has itbeen since your hair started to grow again? A customer of mine lost her hair from chemo and when it first cam in after the treatments ended, it was fuzzy curly. I teased her about how she wouldn't need permanents anymore and how much money I would lose. About 6 months later, all this 'wooly' hair had been replaced by her normal, coarse, thick, straight-as-a-stick hair. Give it a little time -- it will return to 'normal' soon enough. I wouldn't straighten it -- the results on this 'unnatural' hair can be disasterous!

Which other group did you post your message to, Marti? I don't see it.

As for the curly hair, the same thing happened to my mother. As it is growing out, it seems to be getting wavy instead of the intense curls that were there at first, so you never know, you might like it <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: hair after chemotherapy

thank you SoloMio and Marty for your concern and replies. it has been four months that my hair has been growing out since chemo and radiation.I will wait a few more months before I determine(possibly with your help) as to what I will do about this CURLY hair if it doesn:t seem to be growing out and straightening itself back to normal. Please feel free to offer more advice if you care to,as I am open to same. thank you so much
