Children's Aid?

Hi there,
I am a mother of 2 boys, one is twenty and the other is 15 yrs. old. Right now they reside with their Father and his girlfriend. She also has two boys. I left my ex because of physical and mental abuse. I have just learned that they have had no hot water for quite some time now. Also when they both come home from work they go into their bedroom and close themselves in the room, sometimes they don't even say hi to the kids. I also know that my ex has been on at least one occassion verbally abusive to my 15 yr. old. Right now I live alone and I am comtemplating on calling Children's Aid, but I don't want any problems from him or his girlfriend. I am waiting to go on Disability which will be almost another year probably so right now I am not financially stable to take him. The oldest is moving soon and wants his brother to move in with him, heck sometimes he can't even take care of himself! and my ex thinks that's okay. I am just wondering if anybody could give me their advice on this issue. I am very worried.

Re: Children's Aid?

Hi - I do contract work for Family and Children's services in Canada - I can deffinately say that you should call and just talk to someone if you have conserns - you can do it annonymously. just talk to the on call worker, and tell them your situation - it won't do any harm, and if anything does happen to the kids, you will want to know that you did all you could, right?
