My 7 year old son has recently been found hiding food that he does not want to eat or spitting it in the toilet and flushing it. He has had a gastrostomy tube for night time tube feedings for almost 5 years now. The diagnosis was "Failure to Thrive." When he was 15 months old he underwent open heart surgery to correct a congenital septal defect. I've heard that there is a correlation between eating disorders in children and heart defects at birth. If anyone knows anything about this or has tips on how and where I should search the web it would be greatly appreciated!
