HI, anyone out there had issues with wolff parkinsons white syndrome,, or tachycardia in your child.........desperate need of help with the new issues that has arose with my 5 yr old child. He gets real sweaty, pale, weak, and wants to do nothing but lay down. Had cardiology appt july 3, called dr with newest problems, seen him on an emergency basis and is now seeing the cardiologist tomorrow,,, IM SO SCARED,,,, hes so precious, and I do have major heart issues that run on the maternal side of my family, as well as my 12 yr old has a hole in his heart and must be premedicated always,,mother who is 50 has mitral valve prolapse and back flush, she also now has to do the nitro thing under her tongue and on numerous medications for her heart.....her mother at 65 passed away unexpectedly in her sleep frm massive heart attack. Ive had issues iwth my heart and been advised by a practioner that i need to see a cardiologist, yet hte insurance i had , didnt have any cardiology providers, so therefore it went unseen. HELP PLEASE, if anyone knows about this or even heard of it,, let me know,, IM ALL EARS

Hi, my son was born early with RDS and an unclosed valve in his heart. He has an innocent murmur (not sure what that means). He started going a bit dusky/blue and getting sleepy and disoriented, and for 3 years he had every heart test under the sun. He did get tachycardia episodes, but no-one knew why all this was happening. It took them 3 years to run a blood glucose test on him (a simple routine test that should've been done) after he collapsed outside our local shop. It turned out he had ketotic hypoglycaemia - a condition where when the child has a virus, they cant process sugar normally out of their food, and their body starts breaking into their reserves. This shows up as ketones in their urine too. It is also known as accelerated starvation, but not because you dont feed them *lol*. So after panicking that it was a heart problem, it turned out to be something completely different. It is often seen in young children, and most grow out of it by age 8. I'd love to know more about Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, as the symptoms sound really similar....if I've been no help, sorry, just sounded like our kids have a bit in common symptom-wise. Hope you get your answer from the doc soon, and that everything turns out okay

Wow KathyM,,, thanks so much, you were a great help,, ive absolutely had no sleep and sooooooooo scared for him. Ive made an appt with his pediatrician for next week and i will request the blood glucose test. Ironic, when I took him initially, I asked the dr if it could be low blood sugar,,,,,,,,,not that i want that, but in my eyes thats much easier dealing with than a heart issue....................Ill keep you posted,, how is your child these days..is he/she on medication for this? Also, my mother is hypoglycemic,,,,and the remainder of my maternal side of the family is diabetic.........definitely in need of glucose testing, thanks a million, your a doll
