Until what age do u see a pediatrition? - Children's Health Message Board

I've been wondering what is the maximum age that a pediatrition sees u until? I am turning 18 in two weeks, and I heard 18 is when you get the boot? I don't know, I was just wondering...Cause on my doctors card it says she sees children and adolescents, so what age does that mean until? I rarely go see my doc, so I don't know what the deal is. Should I just call and ask? Or wait till I get...booted...lol. Cause I would like to look for a new doc if that is the case, and also then I would have to make some changes in the papers for school. Thanks!!!

I saw my pediatrician until I graduated from college and moved away from that town, and my sister kept going to him until she was at least 25. If I lived in the same town I would probably still go see him (I'm 31 now). He did a good job for us for many years, and said that he would be glad to keep seeing us even into adulthood. You might call and ask though, because yours might not feel the same way about things.

my sister saw a pediatrition until she was 18 and then the doctor informed her that she would have to move on to a regular family physician.

I saw apeditrician until I was 21. It was kind of ironic,because I had my first child at 19 and we were going to the same Dr. for awile.
