Is there a history of migraines in the family?
If so, then I think you might find that looking under stomach or abdominal migraine will be more helpful to you, as recurrent abdominal pain is more likely to be due to this.
Basically, what happens is that there is a history of migraines within the family and children, rather than getting the normal migraine headaches will get the migraines, but as bellyache instead. They will go pale and could even vomit and will have this severe belly pain, rather than the classic headache. This will last for the same amount of time and should be treated in the same way as common migraine.
I do not think that it is linked to IBS, but either more to these migraines or stress and anxiety, which can play a large part and especially at that age, when kids will sometimes keep things to themselves a lot.
Good luck
