My 7 year old daughter has them on her chin. Barely visible at the moment as they are kind of skin colored. We went to the dr this morning to have it checked out and she said for the time being we should leave them. Treatment could leave scarring and discoloration and such. She knows we are moving next week and my daughter will be starting a new school for the last month, so she said we may want to wait for that period of time to pass. Does anyone have any experience getting rid of these? Any suggestions on what has worked for you or your children?? thanks
My son had flesh colored spots on his face, was told they were 3 different things by three different dr's. I went to anohter dr and asked for a referreral to a dermatologist the first 3 wouldn't do it. The first three said he would shave them off when he was older or they could be frozen off. This doctor was great got the refeeral and he perscribed 2% hydrocortozone until we could get into see the dermatologist. It took about a week and they were gone and they have not been back since. So just a thought and something to try.
Thanks! All I could picture is my beautiful little girl, with big lumpy warts on her face. I haven't seen too many adults with those, so I figured there was a solution somewhere! LOL. My dr said there is a cream to try, but it was 150$ a tube. It would be covered by our insurance, so I'm not sure why she said to wait. I will keep an eye on them and make a decision on what to do at our next dr visit. Thanks for your input!!
I had some flat warts on my fingers once. I had them frozen by a dermatologist. They put the liquid nitrogen on each one and it turned white. Once it thawed, they stung pretty bad like a burn. Then they turned red like a blood blister and then they hardened and eventually the top fell off and there was nothing there. It took a few weeks. I don't notice any scaring now. I guess she should have it done in the summer rather than right before she will be making new friends. I don't know about the cream. Does it make them stand out at first?
I'm not sure really. I think she mentioned that the area would probably turn quite red at first, but we didn't really get past the fact that she thought we should wait.
