I noticed some tiny red bumps on my 2 and half yr olds chest and back. We have been going to the pool for the past 3 days and have been using sunscreen on him when we go and i give him a quick shower when we get home and put cream on him after that. He sits in the sun and plays with water when at pool. Its not very hot..temp is in higer 70's. I dont think the bumps are itching him or bothering him coz i dont see him scratching them or anything. I noticed them today evening only. He doesnt have any fever or sore throat. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Its a weekend or else i would have taken him to the doctor. Any suggestions would be a big help.
I believe just air drying is the best way to get rid of these, and cooler clothing, etc. My DD has keratosis, so she has bumps almost ALL year. She gets heat rash VERY easily. I just usually let her air dry after baths. You could try hydrocortisone cream too. Very common.
my son is hyper sensitive to anything on his skin...I can't buy different soap for him, I have to use the same kind of sunscreen all the time...so I can't put anything on the heat rash, just let it go away on it's own.
I use Water Babies sunscreen and i think its from coppertone. His heat rash is gone though. When he is not in water and just playing by the pool i now make him wear a shirt so the sun doesnt hit his screen directly.
