My son will turn 8 this Friday and for about the last month or so he has developed these little pimples all over his nose and between his eyebrows. Some will even be filled with pus. He washes his face every night and morning too. Can a child this young have acne problems? I guess I remember being atleast 11 or 12 before I started getting pimples. I always thought it came along with puberty and hormones raging. I don't know if I should put acne medicine on them or not. Is that type of stuff too harsh for his skin? Any advice greatly appreciated. Beth
Hi Beth, I would take him to a dermatologist who can diagnose what it is. My son had "acne" when he was about 2 years old. It took 2 dermatologists until he was correctly diagnosed and cured. In my son's case it was a skin condition which name I can't remember now, but it was completely harmless. Had he not been treated though, it would have spread rapidly.
