The cough could be caused by a number of things. If you want to cure it, you need to build up her immune system. Instead of Tylenol and other medicines, try Herbs for Kids Wild Cherry Bark for Coughs. My daughter had a dry cough for a morning one day and I gave her some and she quit coughing and hasn't coughed since. It is good for wet, or dry coughs. The herbs for children help heal the body.

my just 4 yr old coughs a lot too especially at night, my dr said it can take time for kids that age to recover from colds and virus because they don't know how to blow their noses and the mucus gets built up in their throat when they lay down.

It's a seasonal asthma attack. Doesn't mean your child has asthma, it's a seasonal disorder, just like cold.

Last winter, I didn't know what it was when my then 3 year old son would cough as soon as he laid to bed each night, this terrible non-stop cough that would work up his abdomen muscles so much, to the point of throwing up.

This winter, he's 4 and I went to a Dr to get an inhalator. Should help.

Search for "seasonal asthma", I believe it's called intrinsic asthma (triggered by cold).
