It's a seasonal asthma attack. Doesn't mean your child has asthma, it's a seasonal disorder, just like cold.
Last winter, I didn't know what it was when my then 3 year old son would cough as soon as he laid to bed each night, this terrible non-stop cough that would work up his abdomen muscles so much, to the point of throwing up.
This winter, he's 4 and I went to a Dr to get an inhalator. Should help.
Search for "seasonal asthma", I believe it's called intrinsic asthma (triggered by cold).
