Smelly Urine - Children's Health Message Board

Hi,

My son is about 3 years 8 months. We observed him passing urine many times (10-15) a day and also smelly. So we got his urine examined in a laboratory.
Laboratory findings were normal in most of the parameter except pH =5,
Specific Gravity :1.020, Ketone Bodies: Positive.

I want to know, is it Bad ? If Bad, how bad the condition ?

2 years earlier he was treated for seizers. He was under medication with Valporine and calcium substitute.Now he is Ok and not in any kind of medication(from Past six months).

Just make sure he gets plenty of fluids, mostly water. The smell comes from bacteria but it may just be not showing up on any tests because bacteria is normal.

Just like bowel movements change based on what we eat, so does urine. Stay away from a lot of green leafy vegetables and as said plenty of fluids.

Thanks Caringsister54, for the advice. He drinks lots of water, that is not a problem.

My doubt, is the presence ketone bodies in urine causing Smell? and as pH
value is 5 which is acidic!!
