Has anyone's child ever had a petechiae rash (small red/pink dots under the skin) under their eyes? My daughter has had them several times this summer. I'm thinking it's caused from swimming goggles. Do you know if this is dangerous? Should it be happening?
Have you taken to the doctor? Petechiae are a symptom of a disorder called ITP that can occur following the flu or any viral disease. Causes the body make faulty platelets and so the platelet counts fall and the child bruises easy and get petechiae. Otherwise they appear normal.
Something to check out(my daughter had it at age 7).
