Sounds like some type of food allergy. Just as some kids get sick on milk, your son gets sick on tomato based products. I would have him avoid those products.
Perhaps you can look at the ingredients on the products that make him sick and see if they share anything? It could be something strange or acid based that is causing the sickness.
