Shingles/ UTI

My 4 year old daughter woke up last Thursday morning and had to pee. When she peed, she cried the whole time. About 45 minutes later she had to go again so I collected a sample and made an appt with her doctor. They wrote her a prescription for Cefprozil for a UTI. We started the meds that day. On Saturday night at bathtime I noticed a small rash on her left shoulder. I put some calamine lotion on it. My husband looked at it on Sunday and said it looked like poison ivy. It's cold here now and we were stumped as to how she could have gotten it. I kept doing the calamine lotion. She stayed with my mom Sunday night and she continued the calamine lotion. Monday evening I checked the rash and it had spread to her arm, armpit and some on her chest. It was more raised but she insisted it did not hurt or itch. I took her to the doctor this morning and asked if she had an allerigic reaction to the Cefprozil. They said since it was confined to one area and one side of her body it must be Shingles. Now she is on another medication 4 times a day for 5 days. I am baffled at how a 4 year old can have shingles. I have read online that since the start of the chicken pox vacination, they have seen more shingles in kids. Thankfully my mom is over 60 and she had the vaccine. Now to make sure my husband and I don't get it. Anyone have any experience with shingles in a child? Anyone have any insight into what may have triggered it?
