MRSA in my 2 1/2 year old

My 2 1/2 year old tested positive for MRSA. Her Dr said he thinks it will clear up after her first round of Bactrim. I'm scared and worried. She is acting like she's feeling better, but I would appreciate any feedback from parents whose children have had MRSA. Thanks so much!

Re: MRSA in my 2 1/2 year old

My son was diagnosed around 19 months of age, he had long hospital stays with many surgeries due to MRSA, he is now 4 years 10 months old and still has MRSA, I am able to manage it now as I do twice daily body inspection in the morning and before bedtime. If I spot a scratch or bug bite/ mosquito or any other I immediately clean the area with rubbing alcohol swab and neosporin onto it, I rarely get an outbreak now since the past two years we had a couple of outbreaks but none so serious that requires hospitalization. Also he sleeps in a mosquito net over and around his bed and I make sure he is kept indoors when Mosquitos are early mornings evenings and overcast days and when I have to use bug repellant I will.
