Anyone take Provigil? - Chronic Fatigue Message Board

In early June i had a really bad fainting spell, My neurologist said it was a seizure(I also have a 1.5 centimeter choroidal fissure cyst in my brain), So i was put on Trileptal to control seizures.

I have been exhausted since I had mono, in February. I finally was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue about a mono ago. I was put on Provigil, and Wellbutrin, Provigil for fatigue, and Wellbutrin for my depression (which i believe is from the CF and the cyst, they both can trigger it) And my CF specialist said i shoudl come off of trileptal, because fainting is common with CF. But myneurologist said no. No one is really sure if waht i had was a seizure though. And i heard Provigil can trigger seizures?

If anyone here has been on provigil, what side effects have you experienced? Does it really help? I have read the information online, but im curious. Im only 16, so im afraid of severe side effects becuase of my brain cyst. Any info you can tell me i would appreciate it sooo much!!! Thanks!!!

I took Provigil which my neurologist gave me for Chronic Fatigue. Didn't do a darn thing for me except put a large hole in my pockets. I did not have any side effects that I could tell. I was told to take 1/2 tablet when I woke and the other half no later than noon. The doctor did not want it to keep me awake, trouble is I already had severe insomina so I couldn't tell you if that was a side effect or not.

I also have a Pineal Cyst and "abnormal lesions" within the white matter (whatever the heck that means). I was suppose to go back this month for another MRI and maybe another Lumbar Puncture. Fed up with all my doctors so cancelled the appt. Not sure what I'm going to do now.

I have been on Provigil for 5 months and have had no side effects. I have had times, generally 3 days at a time where it suddenly doesn't work. I have found when I increase my vitamin B supplement then that it works better again. It's not perfect but at least I'm awake. I have post Lyme syndrome with the chronic fatigue symptoms and neuro problems similar to yours. Hope you have good results. My neurologists said his other patient similar to me takes Ritalin. Hope this helps you.
