Looking for support - Chronic Fatigue Message Board

Hi,

I had mono in Jan and have had severe chronic fatigue since even though blood test for for mono has been clear since Mar. I moved back home in with my parents (oh-joy) and would like to know I'm not the only one around unable to keep up with everyone else and their crazy hetic lives. Just wondering if anyone has information on support groups in Canada.

Hello, My daughter had mono in Jan. Still is very fatigued. She has quit all her activities. She was just diagnosed with CFIDS. Did you talk to your doctor about this? If he is not supportive you should try to find someone who is. Are you able to work or go to school? Hope you feel better soon.

Hi,

I have quit working and moved back in with my parents (who are extremely supportive). The doctors I have spoken with were not supportive. Eventhough I am not working at the moment, I am feeling better than I was in the spring and I do believe over time I will gain more energy. Like your daughter I have also cut back my activities and I've learned to pace myself. In the meantime, I thought I would look for support groups as I think it would be helpful to talk to others who have gone through something similar.

I've just read your postings here and your interesting comments responding to my post about positive aspects -your experience seems very similar to mine - I was worse in the Spring like you and managing to think more positively now about life after this illness - though I am still not too good at all. Both of my kids had mono in high school. It probably took the better part of a year to get their strength back. Eat well, mild exercise, and a good multivitamin was the order of the day for them. Try not to overdo.
