Herbs or other supplements that have helped you with Chronic Fatigue?

I was wondering if anyone has found some benefit from symptoms of severe exhaustion, confusion, and major short-term memory loss by taking any herbs or supplements?

Some of the herbs and supplements I was looking into are Rhodiola Rosea, Ginseng(different types), Ginkgo Biloba, NADH, PS(PhosphatidylSerine), Magnesium, Wheat Grass, and Omega 3 fish oils.

Concerned-

I wouldn't start any supplements, herbal or not, before speaking to a doctor. Have you been diagnosed with CFS?? Have you had complete blood workups, including thyroid? You need to find a doctor (I know how hard it is) who is knowlegable about CFS. Conventional doctors will not prescribe supplements and herbs for you, because they just don't do that kind of thing. I am going to a place called the Fibro and Fatigue Center. They have a webpage you can check out, and centers all over the US. They are specially trained in dealing with fibromyalgia and CFS and all that goes along with those two things. I get about 10 supplements from them. They do have an online store where you can buy supplements (I don't know if you have to be a patient or not..) but I recommend that you speak to one of their doctors first. Or, try and locate an alternative medicine doctor in your area.

Generally speaking the majority of the population with energy problems are mainly attributed to definciencies in simple vitamins. Like the B vitamins for example. You've heard I'm sure of B-12 shots, considered a miracle worker for some. To keep things simple for you since I had the same problem, go to your family doctor or Gp explain the problem and request a blood test. What people don't realize is that by eating this overly processed food with all these preservatives your blocking your bodys natural ability to absorb nutrients and vitamins. The fix for me was as simple as Folic acid. Good luck hope this helps.

Re: Herbs or other supplements that have helped you with Chronic Fatigue?

While vitamins and supplements can do wonders for people whose fatigue is a result of a nutritionally deficient diet, a person with CFS with an underlying infection or virus won't see any improvement until the infection/virus is treated. Also, most people with CFS have underlying thyroid problems. I am just now beginning treatment for an underlying candida infection.

I tried b-12 shots and sublingual b-12 and a million different things, but they did not work because my body was still battling an infection.

You need a doctor who is willing to do all kinds of blood tests to check for infections, virus', thyroid, and hormonal imbalances.

Nope, no herbal supplements... the only thing that's helped is adderall... provigil did nothing. I can still nap easily after taking the meds too.
