Hi all! I meant to see a cfids specialist and my pcp office gave me the number and address to a pain management doc accidentally. I saw him anyways. And he agrees with dx of cfids. My third doc telling me that. And he rearranged my meds.
Take 2 Lyrica for 3 days then 3 twice a day
Take Ultrma er two for three days then 3.
But I am wondering what do you guys take? Now I know there are you special people that take nothing but my virus has really bad pain. I do not have fibro tender points though. I cannot make it through my day with out help.

Deena
Deena - Hi! I take Lyrica twice a day and I am also on the Fentanyl patch. I also have severe nerve pain which my CFS specialist feels is from the CFS.
with fibro you don't always have to have trigger points when i was diagnosed i didn't have any, but as time progressed with me getting worse i now have trigger areas. so i wouldn't totally rule out fibro
My doctor has CFS and he takes Cymbalta for the depession symptoms and physical achy pains and prescribed it for me. Unfortunately I had an adverse reaction and couldn't take it. I then was put on Effexor XR and oddly enough it seems to help. I still get tired and yawn a LOT towards the end of the day to where my eyes are watering like tears(may need to up the dose). It doesn't necessarily help with the severe loss of strength I feel -- but it makes me feel lighter and like it takes less effort to move my body and limbs. I felt like my arms and legs were super heavy and bogging me down before.
i've been taking tramadol and paracetamol (acetaminophen) for the last two or three years, they mostly do the job but not always.
i've just started taking diclofenac a few days ago... i was prescribed a different anti-inflammatory a few years ago when i had whiplash, and when i took it once, as it took effect it was very helpful for the pain (not just the whiplash but all my other pain), but then i got diarrhoea, so didn't take it again. my IBS is much much better now than it was then, so i just asked the doc if i could try an anti-inflammatory again, in the hope i might be able to get off the tramadol (i don't like being physically dependent on it, and going through withdrawal every time a repeat prescription gets delayed in the post). the diclofenac seems pretty helpful, i don't know if it will be enough to get off the tramadol completely but i'll probably be able to cut down.
i used to smoke a lot of weed, not prescribed tho! but these days if i smoke it it actually seems to make my pain worse rather than better. interesting how things affect different people differently!
