Dont know what to do??

I was diagnosed with glandular fever in October last year, and more recently HSV2, after feeling ill, I just cannot seem to recover from the glandular fever and the symptoms are getting worse. I have a constant sore throat, pain in the back of my legs which is worse behind the knee, pain in my left arm and fingers, fever, nausea, tiredness and sore glands in neck.

I've been to the doctor about 15 times now after worrying ive got something serious and all i get is "it can take a while to get rid of", but this is now SIX months.

Could this be CFS?

Im sick and tired of feeling ill everyday, hoping the next morning i will feel better! Occasionaly i do, but then the next day i feel worse again.

Cant take no more

Re: Dont know what to do??

Hi cjmaster2k

You are not alone with the situation you are in, I am pretty much in the same boat. I too had Glandular Fever many months ago and have not been able to budge the symptoms. My condition is getting worse also. Some days I am unable to get out of bed, I ache from head to toe. I have constant sore throats with ulcerated tonsils, pain in my joints (particularly the legs), numbness in my feet and hands (pins and needles), hot sweats, nausea and complete exhaustion. I am currently waiting on results for two more blood tests to rule out any other possible causes for the symptoms. Providing the results are negative my GP is sending me to a specialist in CFS. I have been tested for everything else and had scans etc. so CFS seems to be the only cause.
My GP has informed me that the prognosis can vary extremly between person to person. Unfortunatly I have been suffering like this for just over a year! I take each day as it comes. I do not make decisions upfront as I never know how I am going to feel on that particular day.

What tests have you had taken?

Does you GP think its possible you have CFS?

Take care.

Looie

Re: Dont know what to do??

Had my heart checked out because i had palpitations, so had ECG, Chest Xray, blood tests for other things to do with heart, no problems there and it was during the tests that they checked for glandular fever.

The Docs dont seem bothered about checking for other things which is really Getting me down, its like talking to a brick wall. I have tried FOUR different doctors who just say the same, they throw me some anxiety tablets and its on my way.

Re: Dont know what to do??

Please check out the Lyme board. All of these symptoms could point to LD, which most MD's are clueless about, same for CFS, which is now thought by many to be symptomology of Lyme. There is help and support, even docs who are literate about Lyme and CFS, but you have to sleuth them out.

All the best.

I contracted glandular fever a few years ago and my Doctor advised me to take vitamin B complex and consume plenty of vitamin C and have lots of bed rest for the quickest recovery. It must have worked as I recovered within a month, and took things slow for the next couple of months. Perhaps this will help you too. All the Best for your recovery.
