Post-viral syndrome?

Just after Christmas I had a viral infection and still feel totally shattered. I saw my GP 10 days ago and was signed off work for a week. My submandibular glands were very swollen. I've been back at work for two days but when I get in I just want to sleep. i'm 61.

Two years ago I had similar symptoms for over 6 months and saw a doctor privately, who felt it was a mild form of post-viral fatigue syndrome/chronic fatigue syndrome. Fortunately it has been 'in remission' with occasional mild exacerbations, but at the moment I feel dreadful. I do not want to take more time off work.

I'm planning to increase my omega-3 supplement - how much do other people take? - and take a little magnesium. Is there anything else you recommend?
