When all physical test are done does that mean I dont have CFS?

When all physical test are done does that mean I dont have CFS? They all came back in the normal. My doctor said my body seems to be fine and that it must be something mental. Is that correct? I really dont feel depressed. I just dont feel like myself. I tried wellbutrin for 9 weeks and it didnt do anything for me. It actually made my symptoms worse. I sure hope im depressed.

Re: When all physical test are done does that mean I dont have CFS?

Hi Rdm, no just because "your" doctor didn't find anything doesn't mean you don't have something physically going on.

There are many reasons why people have chronic fatigue, and it seems that many doctors would rather pass it off as you have some depression going on instead of treating the problem. I know if I had been on the right treatment 20 some years ago, then I most likely wouldn't have had the lingering problems that I do.

I see a doctor in Sacramento, he has the "Fibromyalgia Treatment and Learning Center" He test for some bacterial, viral and thryoid problems. He does take some insurances. He has "never" told me that it is mental or that I am depressed.

I didn't know about these boards of course 20 years ago. I learned about them couple years ago. And I sure am glad we have them now to learn from eachother. I would of "stopped" going to regular G.P.s and jumping around from shrinks to surgeons...I think they're the ones that should be going and taking all these antidepressants and such...

What other symptoms are you having besides fatigue?

I hope you find answers soon!

Re: When all physical test are done does that mean I dont have CFS?

I wake up feeling pretty sick, but i dont have the runny nose or sore throat. Its hard to describe. I seen about 10 doctors in the last 4 months and they keep trying to send me to psychiatry. Before this I had extreme dry eyes and then it turned into this. Im not sure if this is correlated. I also see tiny dots every where when i look in the sky. a lot of floaters. High abdominal pains. The biggest symptom I have now is when i sit down i get really tired.
When i take stimulants i get very irritable.

So does this guy in sacramento treat cfs, and since you got treated has your fatigue gotten any better. I'm a poor college student who lives on his own trying to get through RN school. Its been very difficult since i have cfs.

Re: When all physical test are done does that mean I dont have CFS?

RDM, I am alot better than I was 5 years ago. Some people can rebound quickly from what ever ales them when they find "proper" treatment, some people's bodies just hang on to it. It has something to do with our own individual DNA.

I went tooooo many years being mis-diagnoised and all kinds of critters found a home in my body

Dr. Michael Powell has been the second doctor in 20 years that listened and has stood by me trying to get me better. I have been seeing him for about 5 years. Different protocols, supplements.

What your CFS could be something totally different from what I have. I have Lyme, Chlamydia Pnumoniae, Epstein Barr, Cytomeglovirus, Babesia, Bartonella, and lord knows what else...lol...

I understand what it is like having no money and trying to find help. I have lost jobs, babies, husbands, friends, family over all of this. Am now on SSD and still trying to find ways of paying for treatment...Credit cards, gone through savings ect....

I do feel that if you are trying to get through school and all, you'll want to have your health once you are finished. Or atleast on your way to better health.

I had doctors put me on sooooo many of the wrong type of med's such as Ritalin, Adderal, antidepressants ect...None of them worked and most likely did me more harm than good.

I wish you lots of luck finding answers.
