Please, help me.

Hello,

I am 25...since I was 17 I have had extreme fatigue...sleeping does not refresh me. I wake up in the morning and my muscles feel weak and achy. I want to nap all the time. I start dreaming at my desk at work because I'm so tired. Boredom makes things worse. I have a lot of aches and pains. I've had a ton of bloodwork taken but everything looks ok. A sleep study revealed minor sleep apnea, but using a CPAP did not help. I have taken antidepressants for 12 years....Paxil for the majority. Not sure if this has had an effect? I tend to feel better at night (after dinner) for a few hours.

I am in so much misery because I never feel rested. At college, I used to wake up at 11 am and then go back to bed at 1 pm until dinner time. Now I work full time and can't do that. I end up calling in sick a lot because I am exhausted. My doctors don't have an answer.

Does this sound like chronic fatigue? fibro? HELP ME

Thanks,
Julie

Re: Please, help me.

What are your other symptoms? Do you get sick a lot? Have you had a lot of infections ever before (even as a child)?

Did the doctors check your cortisol/DHEA levels? Sounds like Adrenal fatigue is a possibility... but if you have irregular periods and moodiness, you might also look into PCOS (poly-cystic ovary syndrome) and hypothyroid.

I'm sure the MD's already checked your TSH levels for hypothroid, BUT the "normal" range is about 1.0 to 5.0 (or something like that), so there is a LOT of room for you to be just a little bit off.

I would be curious to see what your T3 and TSH levels came back at.

Hi there....my thyroid levels were the high end of normal per Dr. I did have irregular periods actually and thought it was PCOS...I now take Yaz and have changed my diet/lost weight . Also, DHEA levels have been checked I believe but not sure.

Other symptoms...mainly just the achiness/stiffness and pure exhaustion. I don't get sick a ton, but a good amount. I just cannot understand how I can feel this way everyday for EIGHT years, you know?

***Just checked TSH from August, it was 5.11****

Hi, I am not a doc. I just read and learned a lot about health, etc. and apply what I like to myself. To me it looks like your body might be intoxicated by bad eating, bad emotions, or whatever else. Make an easy test for your the PH level of your urine and saliva. Buy the PH stips and follow the instructions. If you are very acidic then cleansing, and alkalizing your body and eating right will clean your body and give you energy.

Another thought is to check if you are suppressing a lot of emotions from your childhood like anger against your parents, or whatever else like this. You might be making a "no way out" for yourself in the psychological sense then you do have no way to go indeed.
Just some thoughts. Feel bad for you being young and not able to enjoy your life to its fullest.

Julie,

I just noticed that you are in upstate New York. One of the chronic fatigue specialists, Dr. David Bell is in your area. You might want to do a little online research and see whether he would meet your needs. He was wonderful with my son. Good luck!

Thanks so much. I looked him up--looks like he is closer to NYC than to Rochester, where I am, but it is definitely something to keep in mind. Thanks

Re: Please, help me.

Hi Julie, Im just wondering how you were doing? I could have written your post word for word! Ever since the birth of my child, 4 years ago, I am not ME. I am 28 years old and all my lab results have come back in the normal range also.. So low and behold I have been prescribed anti-depressant after anti-depressant! If I could sleep ALL day EVERY day, it would be great! Life feels like a chore and it shouldnt!!

Re: Please, help me.

Hello,

Thanks for asking. I'm really the same as always, no improvements. Still working with my Drs to try and get this under control. It's so frustrating and really interfering with my job. You are right--every day parts of life feel like a chore to me too. Its hard for me to get up, go to work, come home & cook...I wish there was a solution.

Keep in touch!

Hi again! I so feel your pain! Its the exact same thing here! I am so heartbroken to hear my children walk in the house and say «Is mommy sleeping?».. instead of.. «Wheres mommy» or whatever! I feel like such a useless mom, I cant play with them, if I do its like using up all the energy I have, and really I have to watch where I spend the energy otherwise I wont make it through the day! I am always late for work and I call in sick almost once a week just so I can sleep ALL day! Very frustrating to be told I am «Healthy».. IMO.. that is NOT healthy!!!

Please keep in touch.. in a way its kind of great to know that I am not insane and the I am not alone!
Xo
