| Re: Anyone ever tried Chelation for CFS?
I'm currently listening to a book tape called "The Detox Strategy" by Brenda Watson. She mentions chelation therapy as a possible treatment for CFS (in addition to other chronic medical conditions I'm dealing with). Is this what you've been reading, or does your information come from a different source?
I'm intrigued that this author mentions the possibility of a slower, "do-it-yourself" (meaning cheaper) way to remove heavy metals from the body using specific herbs during a cleanse. This heavy metal cleanse is to be done after a total-body cleanse. Sorry, I can't provide details since that would involve trying to find the exact location on the CD's. Book tapes are great for my CFS-related low mental endurance, but they do have their limitations.
I'm currently doing a total-body cleanse. At this point, I'm already spending so much money on alternative/complementary treatments, I'll possibly try the heavy metal cleanse myself (after checking the safety of the individual herbs suggested), before considering chelation. I know many health care professionals are skeptical of the value of chelation (at least they were when it first became available and was getting lots of media attention). Since then, I haven't heard anything positivie, or negative, about it.
