My doc has changed my antidepressants which don't seem to have worked at all. weird thing is I spend all day in bed shivering and sweating (I'm a Brit but live in the tropics though I don't have a fever or anything like that). Despite feeling extremely ill and depressed, every night for no apparent reason come 8-9pm I suddenly feel better and find my symptoms lifting until the following morning when they come back with a vengeance. Does anyone know how this is possible? Safe to say I've felt so depressed at times I've been on the verge of a panic attack and very nearly went to the nearest hospital. Sorry for posting so much recently but after 7 years of ME or CFS (depending on where you live in the world) I'm just desperate for answers.
My thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.
Hi, the sweating and chills reminds me of Babesia. You do not have to have a fever to have this.
One thing people should always remember, our bodies do not do these things unless there is something causing it.
What ever you have is causing symptoms like Chronic Fatigue. Chronic Fatigue is caused by many things. Depends on person to person.
You may want to do some research if you haven't already and read up on Babesia, (maliria), Lyme Disease, Epstein Barr Virus, Cytomeglovirus, Chlamydia Pnumoniae, Mycoplasma...and there are many many more that could be causing this.
A antidepressant will not cure these. All of these can affect the brain. The proper treatment for what ever is causing it will help the depression.
Many of us that are afflicted with these bacterias and viruses find that the symptoms flare then go back into remission, only to flare again at any given time.
Sorry you are going through this but you do need to do your own reading and help to find your answers.
There is a lyme support group in the U.K. you can find it from where you are sitting. They can help you find a doctor to help test for these things.
