Re: Is freshorange poison to CFS
Sucrose (table sugar) and fructose (found in fruits, particularly orange juice) are both carbohydrates-they are both converted in the body to glucose, which naturally raises your blood sugar. Some of the side effects of raised blood sugar, include headaches and difficulty in concentrating.
Some juice makers put excessive amounts of orange concentrate in the juice, raising the fructose component to unnaturally high levels, to appeal to the sweet tooth of consumers- it does result in more juice sales.
This artificially raised blood sugar stresses the body and then the adrenal glands come into play, but they have already been exhausted by the stresses of CFS.It is a vicious downward cycle.
A very good article on how to treat CFS is earlier on this page ,titled " CFS totally cured" , in which he attributes his improvement to avoiding all fruits, and eating vegetables. He is spot on.
The improvements I would make to his article are to avoid potatoes which are a high carbohydrate vegetable ,and regarding protein , to avoid all dairy , being substituted by fish.
Summarizing ,dont eat anything that tastes sweet ,including fruit.
