What meds to stay awake during the day?
I have CFS, and I realize how lucky I am in that I don't have any kind of pain like many of you do. However, I'm so exhausted during the day that I'm always tired, sleepy, the usual. The doctor recommended Provigil or Nuvigil, but after hearing the side effects, I don't want to take those. Are there any other meds that will help me stay alert? Thanks.

Well, I went to the doctor today and I'm now on Nuvigil. I didn't want to take it but she said she's never had a patient have problems with it. She also said that many people get good results from taking 1/2, 1/4 or even a sliver of the pill. I'm going to start with a sliver and slowly work up from there if I have to. I'll let you know how it goes for me.

HI, I take Provigil have tried a couple of the ADHD meds but they made my heart race. I have to take the Provigil if I want to drive long distances. The only side effect I might get is a headache late in the day.
