Smile Quick question: How many hr's between each LA medication???

Good day to all,
I just had a quicky of a question:
Now that I'm on my long acting medication 3 times many hours between each pill?
This might sound silly, but now being on the Oxycontin 20 mg's 3 times daily, and let's say I take my 1st one at 5 am, what time do I take the 2nd one and then the 3rd one....the reasoning behind the 3rd one is that I'm just starting this med and by the time I reach the night time dosage, its just late enough where it actually keeps me awake or gives me a slight amount of excitement if you will say...or a slight "high" feeling where I'm awake longer due to it. And this I don't!
Thank you all,

It's probable that this feeling of alertness will disipate with use, but in the meantime, I would suggest taking something like Simply Sleep (Benadryl) at bedtime, to help you sleep. It is not habit forming and there are "store brands" that are much less expensive than the brand names.

I really think it's important to try and take your meds as close to 8 hours apart as you can. I believe that the times that we take our meds, tends to dictate how we metabolize them. And if you have issues with morning pain and stiffness, the closer to bedtime that you take the meds, the better.

Best of luck. I hope this helps. CMP/MM

Re: Quick question: How many hr's between each LA medication???

Thank you so much Sweetie~
You've always come through with helping me and I appreciate it so much!
Yes, you're correct about having morning severe pain and alot of stiffness, so it only makes sense to take my last pill as close to bedtime as possible! I'm sure after a few more days on this med I'll adjust more as its in my system, or I'll be more stable I should of said!
Thank you again for all your help~
Have a sparkling day~
