watson sandoz patches

What, if any, differences have you found between the different brands?

I was on Mylan but developed terrible itching and a rash - They were great for my pain however. I'm now wondering if the Sandoz or Watson would be better to try. Just wondering what your [or anyone else's] experience has been since you've now tried all three. I recently read that some people had found that the Watson's were lasting only around 24 hrs (!). Someone else said she got little relief from the Mylans but found the Watson to be great.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Re: watson sandoz patches

OMG...
The only patches I used were the Sandoz. The Mylan were just HORRID! I was on the Sandoz for a year, and they rule in my opinion. I just couldnt do the patches because of the sweating. In pro golf, you are always in warm weather, under the scope and I couldnt get them to stick. PLus I didnt want them seen, and had tried every body placement on earth, and the best was my upper shoulder, but Im sleeveless 99% of the year. I had to switch to something else. Tried them all, so thats just my thought. I wouldnt put the Mylans on my worst enemy. [ok, maybe I would]
Anyway...Hope this helps...Gotta jet~

Re: watson sandoz patches

Dear Confused089,

I have used fentanyl patches since the end of 1996 (or so). I have used Duragesic, Watson (when I was in a pinch), Sandoz, and Mylan. For me, the Mylan was equal to one of the circles of hell written about in Dante's Inferno. Why? The Mylan is the patch that doesn't contain a medication reservoir--the medication is mixed with the adhesive that holds the patch in place. For some reason, this did not work on me. So, not only did my pain return, but I went through withdrawal--all because the fentanyl stopped entering my body in any meaningful way.

The Duragesic, Watson, and Sandoz all have the medication reservoirs (the goo inside the patch). I have used Sandoz since they came out--except for the one time I was forced to use Watson when my pharmacy was having difficulty obtaining the Sandoz for a while. The Watson patches worked very well. The Duragesic worked very well. The Sandoz work very well--and that's the version I stick with!

Again, the Mylan function differently than the others due to the manner in which they are contructed. MANY PEOPLE swear by the Mylan, so I don't mean to put anyone down. It's just that they did not work on me.

Keep us posted!

Sincerely,
Jon (Conductor)
