Question New versus Old Spinal Stimulators

I was one of the first to try the implanted spinal stimulator, at Johns Hopkins. But it did little for me and I had it removed after 10 years. Now the doctors want to try it again, saying they are much improved. Can anyone tell me about their experience with them??? I am presently using the Fentanyl patch with some success, but I have been on them for over 6 years and I know they won't work forever. I have had so many procedures/surgeries, the idea of another makes me sick to my stomach.
