Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

Of course you can have pain when test come back normal. Surprisingly he offered you Lyrica, did you ask why he offered you Lyrica? Maybe he thinks you have Fibromyalgia, and truly, maybe you do. Ask your Doc if you should see a Pain Management Doctor, or a Rheumatologist. They usually are a better help for this then a regular Doctor.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

I went to a Rheumotologist, and she did all the xrays and blood work. Everything normal. Said I did not meet the criteria, trigger points for Fibromyalgia. But she wants me to try the Lyrica.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

I didn't have all the trigger points either, but I do have fibromyalgia. I go to Pain Management, she told me you don't have to have all the trigger points. I am currently taking Lyrica and Cymbalta. They together help me tremendously. You have to be careful of the Lyrica, it can make your feet swell up and hurt to walk on, after going up to 300mg, I had to back off to 75mg because of the swelling. It does also cause weight gain. I have tried to keep my walking regimen to keep the weight off, to no avail, I keep gaining weight. I am not sure what is worse now, the weight, or the pain, of course the pain is worse, but I hate the weight.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

That is interesting, so I could still have Fibro ?
I think maybe eventually I need to go to a pain doctor, or neurologist.
My husband says I'm just getting old, with the regular aches and pains.
He laughs when I tell him, my toe burns, or my upper back and shoulders hurt, or my arm hurts, and I'm stiff.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

All my troubles started with my feet burning, they were burning so bad I would get up in the middle of the night and run cold water on them, in the day, I would put ice on them, it was horrible. I know what you are going thru believe me. It is not just getting older. I am 67, it is not getting older pains.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

Thank yu Sunny, sometimes people can be insensitive. He works physically hard, in the oilfield, and says he has aches and pains, much worse, all over, and does not go to a doctor. But we are all different people. You can't compare the two.

Re: Pain when all tests come back Normal !!

A lot of people think it's just a part of getting older, and not getting enough exercise. When the doc said my tests were normal, he said, my husband said, See, I told you so. Your a hypochondriac. Everyone has those aches and pains.
