Hi All, Ive been a lurker but decided to finally register.

I just moved to the area (NC) and have a new pain management doc. I've been in pm since 2004. NBever had any issues etc.

i just had a general question I guess. I just signed a new contract with my doc and it has the standard stuff in it. I read so much about these pill counts. My contract does not mention anything about them. The only thing it says is that "original containers of medicine should be brought to each office visit. Unused medications will be discarded and documented when changing to new medications". It doesn't say I MUST, it says i should.

-- so if pill counts are not mentioned, do they still do them?

-- Does that mean they count your pills every office visit? I don't like driving around with bottles of medicine in my car for obvious reasons. Just thought I'd ask.

Hi. Welcome. It sounds to me if you're bringing your pill bottle to every appointment, that they will possibly count them at every appointment, because I assume that they want the pills to be in the bottle.

So, yes, in my opinion, it sounds like you have to bring your medications to every appointment for possible pill count.

There are notes all in my PM Docs office stating medication is to be brought to all office visits. ( Raleigh NC )I have never brought mine in but i do know they do a pharmacy printout showing I haven't got anything from anywhere else. If I was told that next visit I would have to bring the bottles I would but often I go from work to Dr or to work from Dr and I don't want bottles either. one time i was told to bring back left over med when they made a switch of my BT meds which I did do the next visit.
