| Question about XRAY/CT Scan and pain/lump...
I started having rib cage pain in Oct 2009. Had XRAY done in Jan 2010 which came back normal, was diagnosed with costochondritis. In April I noticed a bony lump on my left ribs- about 2" below my left breast. At that point I had a CT scan done which also came back normal.
How can a test not pick up a lump that is about 3" long that seems to be on the rib bone?
Is it possible that it is cartilage built up and that doesn't show on scans? If it were cancer I am being told by my Dr that it would have shown up. I just don't get how a lump doesn't come up at all on these scans? Anyone know?
The pain is awful too, I cannot lay on my left side, cannot workout anymore, it hurts when I sit at my desk because the waistline on my pants/skirt push into the side area where it hurts.
I feel at a loss. Thanks for reading.
