Hello I have had a total of 10 knee surgeries including 2 TKR's the latest was in May. I have almost constant pain in my knee sometimes to the point where I am totally hopeless. I am currently on oxycodone 5 mg between 6-8 pills daily which by now is helping but very minimal. I have gotten use to the idea my knee will never be the same and am seriously thinking of seeing someone in pain management. I have looked online of people who have Chronic pain after TKRS the percentage is between 5 and 20 percent and it would seem I am in that catergory. I am 50 yrs old and pretty much at wits end any sggestions would be appreciated.

hello. Sory? you're on oxycodone 5mg?, if I'm reading it right, that's nothing. What is that your'e taking, is it percocet? 5mg?. that's nothing for severe chronic pain.
Even 10mg percocet is nothing for severe chronic pain. So now I understand why you're so hurting.
Why don't you take oxycontin. I"m now on 40mg oxycontin twice a day.
I spoke to the Surgeon nurse concerning my knee pain and I was told to be patient. He said considering all the surgeries I have had it might be 6 months before I feel some relief. Without trying to be negative I decided to call a pain Dr. and explained my problems so if nothing changes I see him on the 28th. I also stressed I do not want to be hooked on anything long term but I do want this pain to be more under control.
