Question could do with some advice pleeeeaaassseeee

i had back surgery 2 yrs ago to fix a broken t12 vertebrea whilst uner the doc hit a nerve wen i awoke i was in the worst pain imaginable i do child labour 10 xs over instead of that again. that was 2 yrs ago things have improved since then but are deteriorating fast, where the doc hit the nerve i ended up with dop foot my right foot is useless just hangs there, numb, i cant lift it and am always tripping over it, i wonder if i did break a toe would i feel it?
my left hip hurts after 5 minutes of leaving the house as it compensates for my right floppy side, it hurts so much i cant move to do anything i had to be moved to an adapted house so i now have a wheelchair lift to get upstirs ive had back pain ever since the surgery but the surgeon has said ive healed propely and shouldnt be havin any problems, no1s bothered to try to find out why i am and i havent had much help from other dos either i feel likea prisoner in my home i dont like goin out because it hurts so much. im a 22 yr old mum of a major hyperactive 3 yr old boy hes my life and i feel so useless that i cant run around with him or even pick him up from nursery sum days. ive got an appointment with a pm dr this is a 2nd opinion dr as the first said he didnt ant me on painkillers because of my age and has tld me we are doing the same injections ive had 3 times brfore that havnt worked??
ive been on fentanyl patches, gabapentin, anasthetc patches , tramodol, paracetomol, ibruprfen, and nefopam its all worked for a bit but then gradually stops being as effective untl it does nothin and i feel like ive taken nothing. what can i suggest to this pm dr so i dont just get turned awazy feeling like im making it up please help

I think you need a second opinion from a spine specialist, either a neurosurgeon or an orthopedic dr who specializes in the spine. There is something going on, and since your surgeon keeps telling you there isn't, maybe you need some fresh eyes to look at those films.

Let us know.

Re: could do with some advice pleeeeaaassseeee

Hello Amber,
I agree with Carol. In addition to going to a pain specialist I would run, not walk, not stop to get two hundred dollars, but run to the nearest spine specialist.
In all seriousness I would do my research and find the best specialest around and then I would take any and all test results and films with me and explain what was going on. This sounds like you need more than just the pain addressed.
As far as asking the pain specialist for something. I have found that the best strategy is to keep a pain journal and take that with me to my doctor's appointment. This way the doctor has data in front of him. He can then use the data to develop a plan.
Please keep us posted on how you're doing.
Peggy
