I found what i was looking for - there IS an act of the US congress which guarantees wounded veterans effective management of their pain, it is the "Military Pain Care Act of 2008"

Read up on it, try and get a copy, and take it with you to your next appointment.

If you arnt satisfued with what the physicians assistant is doing, demand to see the doctor who is overseeing your case (thank god we in Australia havent been subjected to physicians assistants yet, and nurse practitioners confine them selves to looking after vhronic diabetics, giving kids their immunisations etc, not managing complex drug regimens for the seriously ill

Bugger, you're right, it didnt pass - it wasnt defeated, but the congress lapsed before a vote was taken - sorry for the misinfomation, i thought it had passed.... memory must be failing with old age
